Finally, after a bit of a wait, the Nexus 5 Android 4.4.3 KitKat update is available to manually install ahead of Google’s OTA update that might take a week or so to complete. The company dumped the update into the AOSP and provided binaries and factory images to owners of its Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10.

A short time later, we saw the start a dramatic Android 4.4.3 KitKat push. Android 4.4.3 KitKat updates for the Moto X, Moto G and Moto E were confirmed and the update started rolling out to Google’s Play Edition devices including the Galaxy S4, HTC One M7 and HTC One M8. And now, after a bit of a wait, the long awaited Nexus 5 Android 4.4.3 KitKat update is now available to manually install ahead of its Over-the-Air roll out.

Nexus 5 users that are currently running stock Android 4.4.2 KitKat and know how to sideload software can use this file to install the Nexus 5 Android 4.4.3 KitKat update and all of its fixes right now. Sprint says that the Nexus 5 update will be rolling out until June 9th which means that it could take a little less than a week for the 90MB update to land for Nexus 5 owners around the U.S. and around the world. Sprint also says that the update will enable Sprint Spark band 26 and band 41 for its Nexus 5 users.

Android 4.4.3 KitKat is also expected to land for Google’s Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 at some point though neither of those updates is currently available. We imagine that they will be made available sometime this week, perhaps as soon as today, as Google works to upgrade all of its Nexus and Google Play Edition devices to the latest version of KitKat.
